VinFast Service

Software Updates & Recalls

Updates that need a technician, recall and service campaign work, and infotainment or driver-assistance fixes.

A VinFast is as much software as hardware. Many updates arrive over the air, but some need a technician with VinFast's diagnostic tools: updates to vehicle control modules, updates that must be installed while the car is on a charger and off the road, and fixes released through recalls or service campaigns.

We check your car's software versions against what VinFast has released, install what is due, and complete any open recall or campaign work at no charge to you when VinFast covers it.

What is included

  • Software version check against VinFast's current releases
  • Technician-installed updates for control modules and infotainment
  • Open recall and service campaign lookup by VIN
  • Recall and campaign repairs
  • Driver-assistance camera and sensor calibration when an update requires it
  • Written summary of versions installed

When to schedule it

Book a software visit if the car reports an update it cannot install on its own, if you receive a recall notice, if the touchscreen or driver-assistance features behave differently after an update, or as part of any scheduled maintenance visit, where we check versions as standard.

Why it matters on an electric vehicle

Software controls charging, range estimation, regenerative braking and driver assistance. Staying current keeps those working as VinFast intends and often adds features or fixes. Recall work protects safety and keeps your ownership record clean.

Common questions

How do I know if my VinFast has an open recall?

Give us your VIN and we will check VinFast's records. You can also check the national recall database with the same number. Recall repairs are performed at no charge when VinFast covers them.

Why did an update not install over the air?

Some updates require the car to be on a charger, parked for a set time, or connected to VinFast's diagnostic tools for safety reasons. We can install those in the service department.

Do updates change how the car drives?

Sometimes. Updates can adjust regenerative braking, driver-assistance behavior or charging logic. We tell you what changed when we install one.
