VinFast Warranty coverage
What VinFast's New Vehicle Limited Warranty covers on a VF 8 or VF 9, summarised from VinFast's own US warranty booklet. Warranty work is performed in our service department.
Vehicle: 10 years or 125,000 miles
The New Vehicle Limited Warranty covers the VF 8 and VF 9 for 10 years from the warranty start date or 125,000 miles (200,000 km), whichever comes first.
High-voltage battery: 10 years, unlimited mileage
The original high-voltage battery is covered for 10 years with unlimited mileage under standard use. Vehicles used commercially are covered for 10 years or 125,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Corrosion: 12 years, unlimited mileage
Sheet metal is covered for 12 years with unlimited mileage against corrosion that perforates from the inside out due to defects in materials or workmanship.
Paint: 5 years, unlimited mileage
Body paint is covered for 5 years with unlimited mileage against defects in material or manufacturing. VinFast notes this updated paint coverage applies to model year 2026 and later; earlier model years keep their original terms.
12-volt battery: 3 years
The original 12-volt battery is covered for 3 years with unlimited mileage from the warranty start date.
Roadside assistance
VinFast offers a complimentary roadside assistance program, provided by a third-party partner, for vehicles within warranty: towing to the nearest VinFast service center when a tow is required, towing to the nearest charging station or home if the vehicle runs out of charge, and towing to a VinFast certified collision facility after a collision, with towing covered for the first 50 miles.
Warranty coverage depends on the vehicle being operated and maintained according to VinFast's Owner's Manual and Maintenance Schedule, with the records to show it. That is one reason we give you a written summary after every service visit: it is your maintenance history.
Repairs or replacements made under warranty do not extend the original warranty period; a replaced part is covered for the remainder of the original term. Wear items and routine maintenance (for example tire rotation, wheel alignment and fluid top-ups) are not covered unless they are part of a warranty repair.
If you think something on your VinFast is a warranty matter, book a service visit and tell us what you are seeing. We assess the fault, check coverage under the booklet for your model and model year, and handle the claim with VinFast when it applies.
Good to know: The warranty booklet travels with the vehicle; keep it in the car and pass it on if you transfer ownership. Improper use or charging of the high-voltage battery can void its warranty. The Owner's Manual explains proper charging. Seat belts carry a separate 10-year warranty for vehicles originally sold in Kansas. This page is a summary. The VinFast US Warranty Booklet for your model and model year is the governing document.
